If you want to get Katy Perry's attention, you might want to call her by her married name! During a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show the "Firework" singer said that while she's "in the process" of taking her husband Russell Brand's name, she perks up when she hears it aloud.
The 26-year-old Grammy nominee told host Ellen DeGeneres (in a segment that airs on Wednesday) that people try to "get my attention" by calling her Mrs. Brand. "Like if I'm at an event or something like that, and they want special attention, they go, 'Mrs. Brand!' And I go shwoosh [looks back]," she said.
But the happy newlywed (who got hitched on Oct. 23) has realized that she's getting a lot more than just a new name from her hubby. "There's never a dull moment," she said. "He's a smorgasbord of things."
Still Brand's unique personality has been a key to their success as a couple. "A sense of humor is really important in our household," she said. "That's how we de-stress, and we like to have a laugh."
