Lindsay Lohan "So Upset" with Gwyneth Paltrow's 'Glee' Jabs

Lindsay Lohan "So Upset" with Gwyneth Paltrow's 'Glee' Jabs

Gwyneth Paltrow won over plenty of Gleeks (and 73% of iVillage readers!) with her guest stint on Glee as flighty, yet cool, substitute teacher Holly Holiday. But there's one person who wasn't laughing: Lindsay Lohan!

It wasn't Paltrow's rendition of Cee Lo Green's "Forget You" that had Lohan, 24, upset, though. Rather, it was a scene in which Paltrow, 38, teaches her Spanish class with phrases like, "Lindsay Lohan is totally crazy, right?" and "How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?"

Now, more than a month after the episode (which was  Paltrow's first appearance on the hit show) aired, Lindsay's mom Dina Lohan claims her daughter was hurt by the jokes.

"Lindsay is so upset with Gwyneth," Lohan, 48, tells RadarOnline.com. "Lindsay was watching it while in Betty Ford, then she called me and was upset and said, 'Why did she have to do that?'"

Mama Lohan goes on to say the two actresses have been friendly in the past and that the jabs on television were too mean-spirited. "Lindsay thought she was a friend and it was disappointing," Dina says. "It was really hard for her to watch... it was hurtful not funny."

She acknowledges that the Lohans have had trouble with jokes at their expense in the past (remember that whole E-Trade debacle?) -- but she insist they do have a sense of humor. "We are the first to make fun of ourselves in our family," she argues. "And Lindsay has even done SNL a few times."

Still, it seems neither Lohan is laughing now. "Gwyneth went overboard and it was unnecessary," Dina says.

Now the question is whether Paltrow will lay off Lindsay during her next appearance. The actress confirmed to Access Hollywood that she will return as Holly Holiday for another episode. "I’m going to do one more," Paltrow said. "I signed up for two…so I’m excited!"

We're guessing LiLo will be even more upset if Paltrow disses her again in her next episode. But while we understand that Lohan is disappointed by Paltrow's jokes, she has to realize they're not really hers to begin with! It's not as though the Oscar winner is coming up with the lines; the show's creator Ryan Murphy and his fellow Glee writers are likely behind the jabs!

There's no question Lohan has often been a punchline (especially on late-night talk shows) for her bad behavior, but should she and her fam just lighten up? It's not as though Lohan is the first celeb to have barbs made at their expense on Glee, or any other show for that matter (hello, South Park)! If they are willing to make fun of themselves, perhaps they could laugh in the face of all the jokes, too? Or in these troubled times when many are questioning how mockery and bullying is being handled in the media, should Gwyneth and the Glee gang have bitten their tongue?
