Nicki Minaj's Lil Wayne Lap Dance Nervousness
A funny thing happened to Nicki Minaj on Sunday (March 27) during the "I Am Still Music" tour when she headed to give a lucky fan a lap dance - her boss, Lil Wayne , ran from backstage at the Long Island, New York's Nassau Coliseum and plopped down in the seat.
The Pink Friday star's showstopping move suddenly turned into a must-see moment, as she told press afterwords: "Well, I have to say, I been giving lap dances [during the tour], but I didn't know Wayne was gonna jump out and pop out the back. I literally was up there trying to get a boy, then I turn around and I see this cute little dread in the chair with his legs dangling off. And I was like, 'What?' I was super nervous."
After a few quick pelvic thrusts in front of Weezy, Nicki smiled, then returned to her dancers to resume their choreography.
The affair was one of the evening's highlights, but ultimately, it proved to be more nightclub than gentleman's club. "It's just the essence of a lap dance," Manaj said of her routine. "Now, the down and dirty? Uh uh, not yet."

Blake Lively Takes "Green Lantern" to CinemaCon
Stepping out for her new movie, Blake Lively was one of the big attraction arrivals at a Warner Bros. Pictures presentation in Las Vegas on Thursday (March 31).
Held at Caesars Palace, the Serena van der Woodsen actress happened to be boosting interest in her new film "Green Lantern" during CinemaCon - the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners.
Due out June 17th of this year, "Green Lantern" co-stars Ryan Reynolds while finding "a test pilot being granted a mystical green ring that bestows him with otherworldly powers, as well as membership into an intergalactic squadron tasked with keeping peace within the universe."
Meanwhile, the CinemaCon appearance comes after rumors of strife at Chanel over the company's selection of the "Gossip Girl" actress, as a NY Daily News report claimed "'internal grumblings' at the design label's American division since actress Blake Lively was named the official face of Chanel's Mademoiselle handbag line."
Responding to the claims, a Chanel spokesperson said everything with Lively is just peachy, telling, "Blake's spontaneity and fresh youthful image have convinced Chanel that she is the right person to represent the house and this range of bags."

Kim Cattrall: The Morning After
Stepping out for a morning interview on the "Today" show, Kim Cattrall paid a visit to NBC studios in New York City on Thursday (March 31).
The ?Sex and the City? babe looked a bit beleaguered after her morning show sitdown as she promotes her upcoming film titled ?Meet Monica Velour?.
Perhaps Cattrall was feeling a bit under the weather after having one too many cocktails before attending Wednesday night?s NYC premiere of her new flick.
During the red carpet media session, the tipsy 54-year-old actress was chatting with a news reporter when she became perturbed at the topics on hand.
Snapping at the female, Cattrall said, "Why don't you work at--what's that news agency?Roybers (It's Reuters.) "Yeah, sorry, I've been drinking," she said when corrected.
"What about writing for a blog? Then you can write about what you want (or) care about," she added angrily.
Of being asked about the bikini wax, Kim barked, "That's a stupid question. You're a smart girl. How could you want to write that?"
The actress got even more livid when she learned that the reporter hadn't seen her movie. "You didn't see my film," she huffed. "Why are you even here?"

Britney Spears Gets Porta-Potty Launched by 'Jackass' Guys
Britney Spears might be a world-famous pop star, but the "Hold It Against Me" singer recently found herself in a very unglamorous, filthy porta-potty -- that was hurtling through the air! Indeed, on Monday's Jimmy Kimmel Live, Spears appeared in a pre-taped segment in which she was subjected to the Jackass treatment.
Kimmel's other guest Johnny Knoxville played a clip of the singer's role in Jackass 3D.
"Are you scared of poo poo?" Knoxville asked Spears.
"I'm not scared of poo poo," Spears said.
"What about pee-pee?"
"No, I'm not," she bravely responded. Brit then was given something known as "Poo Cocktail Supreme," which is just about as digusting as it sounds. Like (the recently arrested) Steve-O did in the theatrical version of Jackass 3D, Spears climbed into a porta-potty attached to bungee cords and was then flung through the air while disgusting amounts of human excrement engulfed her. As the contents of the porta-potty rained down on Spears' face, she screamed in horror -- though keeping her mouth shut might have been the more advisable strategy. Watch for yourself below!
Not to poo-poo this stunt, but we think Spears might be a tad more sophisticated than this kind of debauchery! Then again, stuff like this is probably good for promoting her new album, Femme Fatale, and her summer tour -- which sadly won't be featuring Enrique Iglesias.

James Franco Talks Staying in School, Bromance, and His Sword Skills as He Promotes Your Highness
James Franco plays the swashbuckling and sexy Prince Fabius in the upcoming Your Highness. When his lady love is kidnapped by an evil wizard, he and his ne'er-do-well brother, played by his former Pineapple Express costar Danny McBride, set out on a quest to rescue her. Hijinks, sword fights, and stoner humor ensue. James was on hand for the movie's recent press day in Beverly Hills, where he talked about gearing up for the movie's fight scenes, the secret to a solid bromance, and why he's still pursuing his college career despite his success as an actor. Here are some highlights:
- On the attention his college career has gotten: "Well, it's hard. It's out of my hands, really. I really went to school for myself, and sometimes I forget that it's not actually a public act. I'm there to learn and better myself and that part of my life is not a performance, but in some ways, it kind of has become material for public discussion, to the point where The New York Times is like, interviewing my teachers. But I don't mind. I'm proud of everything I'm doing. I guess it's just that part of my life is a performance, and I perform as a job, and then part of it's kind of not. But what can you do? I can't control it."
- On why people think he's so busy: "Well, there's also this phenomenon where people do like to announce movies that they think I'm doing that I'm not. Somebody just doesn't have time to do all the movies that people claim that I'm going to do. Or, I have acquired the rights to a lot of books that I love, and I think it helps the writers to sell their books if they announce my attachment. But it doesn't mean I'm going to make the movies in the next year or two or three."
- On brushing up his sword skills for Your Highness: "Danny was the writer, so he conveniently wrote his character as someone who was very bad with swords so he didn't have to train at all. I trained a bit, but I had done literally nine months of training, seven days a week, for Tristan and Isolde, because I was a young actor that didn't know that was insane. And I didn't get to use much of it in that film, so I got to use it in this movie."
For the rest of James's interview, just read more.
- On his favorite funny moment from the film: "I think we had a hard time with the wise wizard, too. Because we were acting with a puppet, and we were short on time that day, so it was actually causing problems that we couldn't finish it. So that was a scene that was hard to do."
- On the movies that inspired his performance: "The first film I ever saw in a movie theater when I was very young was The Dark Crystal. And I'd see that repeatedly in the theater, and then The Neverending Story, and the original Clash of the Titans. We'd watch that. They're a little hokey now, but they still have a lot of charm."
- On the secret to Your Highness's bromance: "Somebody earlier today said we might have ruined this genre for anyone that wants to treat it seriously, because it really is hard to make an earnest fantasy film, and until Lord of the Rings and maybe the Harry Potter series, there haven't been too many that have been embraced by an older audience. Usually they were thought of as kids' films. So actually, I kind of played the character pretty earnestly, and because it's a comedy, we can get away with a lot of the cheesiness that can maybe hurt a film that's completely earnest. Then you can actually address some of the real feelings and real dynamics between brothers and jealousy . . . That's kind of the secret of bromances. You can talk about relationships between guys and brothers because it's a comedy, and if it wasn't a comedy, it would probably just be boring or cheesy."

Emma Stone Gets a Little Help From Bryce, Viola, and Octavia at Cinema-Con
Emma Stone took the stage at Cinema-Con in Las Vegas yesterday, wearing a fun, polka-dot Lanvin dress and platform pumps. The new Glamour cover girl was on hand to help hype her upcoming film, The Help, along with her castmates Bryce Dallas Howard, Viola Davis, and Octavia Spencer. Emma was busy shooting the film adaptation of the best-selling book in LA just last month. The actress headed into the project soon after wrapping up work on yet another highly anticipated movie, The Amazing Spider-Man, and making a quick trip to Fall Fashion Week in Paris. Fans will have to wait until 2012 to see Emma play Gwen Stacey to Andrew Garfield's Spidey, but she'll be a familiar face in theaters this Summer when The Help and her Friends With Benefits, which costars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake, both hit the big screen.
Elizabeth Taylor's Jewelry Collection Going to Auction?
Elizabeth Taylor was known for her violet eyes -- and her eye for jewelry. During her lifetime, Taylor, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 79, collected an estimated $150 million worth of rare jewels. Now, sources tell People that the actress's jewelry collection is expected to be auctioned by Christie's "sometime in the future." Christie's has not confirmed the auction, so we don't know which pieces will be up for bidding -- but Taylor owned many a famous bauble that any collector would kill for. Here are a few of her favorite things...
- A diamond tiara given to her by third husband Mike Todd. A young Taylor liked to wear it when she went swimming.
- The Krupp Diamond, Elizabeth's favorite piece of jewelry: a 33-carat gem given to her by the love of her life, on-again-off-again husband Richard Burton. She had it mounted on a ring and wore it frequently throughout her life.
- An enormous Bulgari diamond-and-emerald necklace, also given to her by Burton.
- The giant La Peregrina Pearl, formerly owned by Spanish royalty.
- A sapphire engagement ring from second husband Michael Wilding.
Taylor was extremely knowledgeable about her museum-quality jewelry collection, which she documented in her 2002 book My Love Affair With Jewelry. One of Taylor's most famous jewels won't make it to Christie's, however: The Taylor-Burton Diamond, a 69-carat gem considered one of the world's most perfect diamonds, was sold in 1978, with the partial proceeds going to build a hospital in Botswana. The proceeds for the upcoming auction are rumored to be destined for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and amFAR.
Though collectors will be thrilled if the actress' jewels go up for auction, another group of Taylor devotees may not be so happy: her family. According to Popeater, Taylor's heirs are already beginning to feud over her substantial fortune of up to $1 billion, accumulated largely from Taylor's business dealings (like her fragrance and jewelry lines).
"Elizabeth... made arrangements to split the rest of her fortune between her four children and other charities that she cared so much about," a close friend tells the website. "But what is causing all the problems is not the money she made during her life, but rather what should happen to the millions she is going to make after her death."
In other words, the profits from future Elizabeth Taylor merchandise, film re-releases and product sales are still up for grabs -- and her children, business managers and favorite charities are all looking for their share. Even if it's only her family fighting over money, that could still be a big argument: Taylor is survived by four children, 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

'Black Swan' Director Defends Natalie Portman's Dancing
Darren Aronofsky responds to comments by Portman's body double that only 5 percent of the dancing in the film was actually performed by Portman.
By Terri Schwartz

Since "Black Swan" hit theaters in December, the film required a certain suspension of disbelief as to whether leading lady Natalie Portman was actually performing the pirouettes, bourrées and pliés the scenes in the movie required of her. But the question about how much she actually danced has refused to go away, and it culminated on March 25.
Portman's ballet body double, Sarah Lane, told Entertainment Weekly that only 5 percent of the dancing shown in the movie was actually done by Portman. It was a response to Portman's fiancé Benjamin Millepied, a dancer himself, telling the Los Angeles Times that "85 percent of that movie is Natalie," which Lane said was grossly exaggerated and thus "demeaning to the profession and not just to me."
But now the one man who truly knows just how much of the film actually was Portman has come forward. Entertainment Weekly received a statement from "Black Swan" director Darren Aronofsky in which he clarified once and for all that the majority of the ballet performed in the flick is, in fact, danced by Portman.
"Here is the reality. I had my editor count shots. There are 139 dance shots in the film. 111 are Natalie Portman untouched. 28 are her dance double Sarah Lane. If you do the math, that's 80 percent Natalie Portman," he said.
Portman's costar, Mila Kunis, also came forward and defended the Oscar-winning actress on Monday to Entertainment Weekly.
"Natalie danced her ass off," Kunis said. "She'll tell you [that], no, she was not on pointe when she did a fouetté [turn]. No one's going to deny that. But she did do every ounce of every one of her dances. [Lane] wasn't used for everything. It was more like a safety net. If Nat wasn't able to do something, you'd have a safety net. The same thing that I had — I had a double as a safety net. We all did. No one ever denied it."
Aronofsky went on to explain that, when looking at the duration of each dance sequence and not just at the number of shots, Portman actually performed about 90 percent of the dance in the movie. He said that there were two complicated longer dance sequences where he and the production crew used Lane's performance and then replaced her face with Portman's, but that he wanted to defend just how much effort his leading lady did put into her role.
"If you look at the final shot of the opening prologue, which lasts 85 seconds and was danced completely by Natalie, she exits the scene on pointe. That is completely her without any digital magic," Aronofsky said. "I am responding to this to put this to rest and to defend my actor. Natalie sweated long and hard to deliver a great physical and emotional performance. And I don't want anyone to think that's not her they are watching. It is."
When Portman spoke to MTV News in November about her training for the movie, she admitted that it was "really extreme."
"I definitely felt both physical and mental aftershocks from the experience, because it was the first thing I've ever done that was this physically demanding on top of an emotionally demanding part," she said.

'Sucker Punch': The Reviews Are In!
'... the ride Snyder takes you on is so vividly conceived, so deliriously bizarre and wonderful,' writes Rene Rodriguez of the Miami Herald.
By Eric Ditzian
Abbie Cornish in "Sucker Punch"
Photo: Warner Bros.
We'll say this about Zack Snyder: The guy knows how to stir up passion in moviegoers, whether those intense feelings skew toward the aggressively negative or the bow-down-before-a-cinematic-god positive. Just take a peek at reviews for the director's adaptation of "Watchmen" in 2009.
A similar disparity in critical assessments surrounds Snyder's latest offering, the fantastical battle royale called "Sucker Punch." Some reviewers are passionately defending the film and calling out the haters for simply failing to understand what the director was trying to accomplish. Many more, however, are accusing Snyder of being the one who failed to deliver.
Will you love it? Hate it? Have you somehow never even heard of it? Check out what the critics are saying and decide for yourself.
The Story
"The story centers on Babydoll (Emily Browning), an orphan falsely accused of murdering her little sister and imprisoned inside an asylum where she is scheduled for a lobotomy. Before the procedure can be completed, Babydoll disappears into an alternate reality that exists entirely in her mind. There, she and four fellow inmates (Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung) are performers in a bordello managed by the theatrical Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino) and run by the cruel pimp Blue (Miami's Oscar Isaac). In order to escape — the cathouse and the mental institution — the girls must first fight off winged dragons, zombies, giant ninja robots and android aliens and collect five talismans. No, Sucker Punch doesn't make any sense. But none of that matters, because the ride Snyder takes you on is so vividly conceived, so deliriously bizarre and wonderful." — Rene Rodriguez, Miami Herald
Storytelling Shortcomings
"The film abdicates so many basic responsibilities of coherent storytelling, even coherent stupid-action-movie storytelling, director/ co-writer/ co-producer Zack Snyder must have known in preproduction that his greasy collection of near-rape fantasies and violent revenge scenarios disguised as a female-empowerment fairy tale wasn't going to satisfy anyone but himself. Well, himself, plus ardent fans of Japanese-schoolgirl manga comics. ... You will be unprepared for a film packing this much confusing crud into a little less than two hours of solitary confinement, which feels more like dog hours, i.e., 14." — Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune
The Visuals
"Loaded with all kinds of visions of the fantastic and high-octane excitement, it's a visceral feast that utilizes Snyder's signature techniques with all the velocity of a fire-breathing dragon ... But 'Sucker Punch' is not just style over substance. That's an argument the film is sure to be met with, as well, but there is just as much bubbling up under 'Sucker Punch's' CG surface than there is in its sepia-toned skies. Filled with themes of empowerment, escapism, and changing the course of the typical narrative, the film rides high in its jet-propelled mech warrior, and it has much to tell us when it's done doing loopty loops around our brain." — Jeremy Kirk, FirstShowing.net
The Influences
"You could go to see 'Sucker Punch' this weekend — a lot of people probably will, and a few may even admit as much back at the office on Monday — or you could try to make it yourself, which might be more fun, though not necessarily cheaper. Here's what you will need: a bunch of video-game platforms; DVDs of 'Shutter Island,' 'Kill Bill,' 'Burlesque' and 'Shrek'; some back issues of Maxim; a large bag of crystal meth; and around $100 million. Your imagination will take care of the rest." — A.O. Scott, The New York Times
The Final Word
"Some will see the worst sort of objectification in its Victoria's Secret-esque femme front line that also includes the scantily clad corps of Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung. Others will argue that 'Sucker Punch's' sexy guerrillas represent female empowerment, to say nothing of the benefits of diet and exercise. I'd suggest the film is a wonderfully wild provocation — an imperfect, overlong, intemperate and utterly absorbing romp through the id that I wouldn't have missed for the world." — Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times

Sarah Lane: I Did 95 Percent of Natalie Portman's 'Black Swan' Dancing
To prepare for her Oscar-winning role in Black Swan, amateur dancer Natalie Portman trained rigorously to pass as a professional ballerina. It was no secret that, for some of the most difficult moves and positions, the filmmakers substituted a "dance double." But now Portman's double, Sarah Lane, has come forward with a shocking allegation: She claims that she did most of the actress's dancing for her. Furthermore, she claims that the studio covered it up to make Portman's performance seem more impressive.
Lane, a soloist from the American Ballet Theatre, tells Entertainment Weekly that she performed nearly every full-body dance shot in Black Swan. "Of the full body shots, I would say 5 percent are Natalie. All the other shots are me," says Lane, 27. "The shots that are just her face with arms, those shots are definitely Natalie. But that doesn't show the actual dancing."
To pull off the switch, the filmmakers used digital effects to put Portman's face on Lane's body, Benjamin Button-style. In the promo video below, you can watch samples of digital effects done to Portman. Until a few days ago, there was a longer version of this video on YouTube showing Lane's face replaced by Portman's -- which has now, interestingly, been pulled from the Internet.
Lane decided to speak out after reading a recent Los Angeles Times story in which Portman's dance coach and fiancé, Benjamin Millepied, defends Portman's work and says she did most of her own Black Swan moves.
"There are articles now talking about her dance double that are making it sound like [Lane] did a lot of the work, but really, she just did the footwork, and the fouettés, and one diagonal [phrase] in the studio," Millepied tells the L.A. Times. "Honestly, 85 percent of that movie is Natalie."
Fox Searchlight and the filmmakers concur with Millepied. In a joint statement released on Sunday, they responded to Lane's claims. "We were fortunate to have Sarah there to cover the more complicated dance sequences and we have nothing but praise for the hard work she did," the statement reads. "However, Natalie herself did most of the dancing featured in the final film."
Lane is not convinced. "They wanted to create this idea in people’s minds that Natalie was some kind of prodigy or so gifted in dance and really worked so hard to make herself a ballerina in a year and a half for the movie, basically because of the Oscar," says Lane, who claims she was forbidden to speak to the press about her role in the film. "It is demeaning to the profession and not just to me. I’ve been doing this for 22 years... Can you become a concert pianist in a year and a half, even if you’re a movie star?"
She's got a point. On the other hand, nobody -- least of all Portman herself -- claimed that the star had become a prima ballerina overnight. Portman looked enough like a ballet dancer to fool the cameras, and became about as good as a dancer as an amateur could possibly become in one year. There was never any debate that she had a stand-in for some of the dancing, like those fouettés -- which are quick, complicated turns done on one foot.
Sarah Lane acknowledges that Portman's acting and dedication were impressive, but says it insults the profession to have people think that Portman did her own dancing.
"I mean, from a professional dancer’s standpoint, she doesn’t look like a professional ballet dancer at all, and she can’t dance in pointe shoes," says Lane. "And she can’t move her body; she’s very stiff."
We may never know who really did most of the dancing that ended up in the film's final cut, but either way it doesn't really take away from Portman's performance if she relied heavily on a dance double. After all, Natalie won the Academy Award for best actress -- not best dancer.
