Narrowly avoiding time behind bars, Chad Johnson was sentenced to 12 months probation and a counseling course after agreeing to a plea deal in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Friday morning (September 21).
The former NFL receiver plead "no contest" to a charge of domestic battery after allegedly head-butting his ex-wife Evelyn Lozada on August 11t. The reported assault occurred during a domestic dispute over a receipt for condoms.
Chad will also be handing a large chunk of change to Evelyn after being ordered to pay restitution. Also, during his time on probation, the 34-year-old is not allowed to contact his ex.
Admitting that he's getting ready to enroll in anger management courses, Mr. Johnson told Inside the NFL on Wednesday night, ?Right now I need to work on Chad."
