Twenty years ago, an unknown Chicago couple named Barack and Michelle Obama exchanged vows in front of 200 guests at the Trinity United church.
Today the President and First Lady get to spend their special anniversary in the White House. The road was paved with obstacles and trials like any marriage, but the two have weathered the storm and seem stronger than ever.
So, what's their secret? The President once told Chicago of his wife, "She's brutally honest, which is good for keeping my head on straight."
The First Lady has often sung her husband's praises. She told Us Weekly in 2008, "He's an incredible husband and father."
How do the two keep things going when the busy work of the President takes him away from the White House? Michelle explained, "We got computers with webcams so we can see each other when he's on the road."
Even outsiders recognize the strength of their union. PR exec Yvonne Davila, Michelle's friend, told Us Weekly, ""This is a real marriage and a real partnership." Here's to 20 more years of happiness.
