Despite what you might have read in the tabloids, Jennifer Aniston is not adopting a baby. The 41-year-old actress is far too busy with her upcoming film schedule and the launch of a new perfume to try and keep up with her ex-husband Brad Pitt’s brood!
"I think I've adopted a baby every year for the last five years," she joked in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily. The former Friends star said any baby rumors about her are "totally false."
She explained the trick to dealing with the persistent rumors about her personal life is "just turning your head and just going with it. Yes, that is a totally shameless plug!"
That plug is for her upcoming film Just Go With It, due in theaters Feb. 11, which just so happens to be Aniston's 42nd birthday. In the movie, Aniston plays a single mom who goes along with Adam Sandler's lie that the two are a married couple, all in an effort to help him land his dream girl (played by Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker).
Funnily enough, Aniston and Sandler revealed on The Oprah Winfrey Show that the two were almost costars on the small screen many years ago. Aniston was offered a role on Saturday Night Live, but the rising star felt like it was a "boys club" and turned it down for another project she had in the works.
"We wanted Aniston to be on the show with us," Sandler, who was a cast member at the time, said. "I remember being on the ninth floor where [SNL creator] Lorne Michaels' office was, and seeing Jen come in. I was like, 'Oh my God, there's Aniston. Is she about to be on our show?'"
Unfortunately for the comedian, Aniston pursued a show called Friends and said "no thanks" to studio 8H. The actress said everyone "thought I was making a huge mistake."
"She said no? She's gonna do that Friends? What the hell is Frends?” Sandler laughed. "That was the truth."
Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey chimed in and said, "Worked out for ya."
Aniston laughingly replied, "Did alright."
In addition to her movie with Sandler, the actress has been busy designing her own fragrance, which smells like jasmine and wild violets -- unlike Lady Gaga’s bodily fluid-scented perfume -- and bears the simple name "Jennifer Aniston." She's also directing and executive producing a project for Lifetime called Five for the Cure, which consists of five short films that each tell a tale of breast cancer survival. Aniston also has already wrapped starring roles in two other comedy flicks: Wanderlust with Paul Rudd, and Horrible Bosses, costarring Jason Batmeman and Colin Farrell.
With film, fragrance and behind-the-scenes TV work on her plate, it sure doesn't seem like this busy lady's schedule has much room for diaper duty. But that certainly isn't going to stop the tabloids from printing those rumors -- or Aniston from good-naturedly laughing them off.
