Khloe & Lamar: Another Kardashian Triumph?

Khloe & Lamar: Another Kardashian Triumph?

It's not easy keeping up with the Kardashians. Their original show premiered less than four years ago, and it has already launched two spin-offs, Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami and Kourtney and Kim Take New York. And now a third has arrived: Khloé & Lamar (premiering Sunday, April 10, at 10 p.m. ET on E!) will follow the lives of Khloé, the youngest Kardashian sister, and her husband, L.A. Laker Lamar Odom, as they settle into married life.

"This is what happens when you get married in 30 days," Kardashian says in this preview clip, while Odom playfully pretends to whip her in bed. Straight out of the gate, the pair pokes fun at the public's intial perceptions about their union: It happened too fast. It couldn't possibly be real. It must be a publicity stunt.

But a year-and-a-half later (which counts as 10 years in Hollywood marriage time), the pair are still together and starring in their own reality show.

"It was hard for a lot of people to accept," Odom told Playboy in February. "Some people who don't understand see it from a view of 'You've got to watch out. She's trying to get (your money).' But she's got her own." The Kardashian sisters own and operate a clothing boutique called D-A-S-H, with outposts in three cities. They also have lines of jewelry, clothing, fragrance and sunless tanners, and, of course, their TV shows. "One of the most beautiful things about her is that she understands how to make her own way in life," Odom said. "This is one of the reasons our connection is so strong."

And based on the extended preview, this union is no publicity stunt. Whether the marriage will last is anyone's guess, but they are certainly a couple for the time being! The show features lots of PDA, family drama (especially with Odom's father), friend issues (sparks of jealousy fly between Kardashian and Odom's best pal, Jamie Sangourthai) and talk about getting pregnant (though Khloé has recently said that she's still trying).

The show has a slightly different feel from the previous Kardashian outings, as it should. Odom is not a reality star, and he doesn't behave like one. Some of the trumped-up drama, which comes so naturally to Kardashian, doesn't come to its screaming, clawing fruition -- because Odom's not a hysteric. But the Kardashian family is an intricate part of Khloe's life, and therefore will be an intricate part of this show, too. And where they go, drama follows.
