Jennifer Lopez's Ex-Husband Suing Her Over New Song

Jennifer Lopez's Ex-Husband Suing Her Over New Song

Jennifer Lopez has never been busier. Not only does she have a new album, Love?, coming out May 2, she's also putting her heart into being an American Idol judge -- and looking to start her own televised music talent search. On top of all this, Lopez was recently named People magazine's most beautiful person of 2011.

Things look like they might be getting a bit more complicated, however. According to Radar Online, Ojani Noa, Lopez's first husband, is filing a lawsuit against the singer-actress-reality-judge. The reason? Noa claims that the song "One Love" off her new album was written about about him and violates an agreement prohibiting his ex from portraying him in a negative light.

Noa's business partner Ed Meyer tells Radar: "J.Lo's new album Love?, out on Tuesday, contains the song 'One Love,' which violates the agreements between Ojani Noa and J.Lo. I have a conference with the attorney for J.Lo's partners in the publishing rights for this song on Monday, as we will be adding the dispute over 'One Love' to the lawsuits... Any negative reference to Ojani Noa is prohibited by contract, and J.Lo would be in breach to Ojani Noa. Ojani Noa will be bringing a separate civil action over the song, as soon as the album is released, so as to avoid prior restraint, which we are accusing J.Lo of in our case."

At the same time, Noa's current girlfriend Claudia Vasquez is also suing Lopez for $10 million, claiming that she wants to reclaim some home video tapes in Lopez's possession. Lopez has refused to turn over the tapes.

This is a love triangle that goes way back, with acrimonious statements from all parties. Noa and Lopez had a strict confidentiality agreement as part of their divorce settlement, which Noa already attempted to breach by writing a tell-all book about his marriage to J.Lo. Lopez got the book stopped by filing a restraining order against Noa.

Now it's Lopez's turn to be sued. The song in question, "One Love," starts with the following verse:

Took a shot, with the bad boy from the block/Picked my love right from the start/ Mister wrong, he plays his part/Back to the beginning, now round two/Try my luck with something new/We danced until we said "I do"/My luck is bad, no more us, too/No me and you

Sure, those lyrics could be about Noa -- but can he prove it? And, even if the song is about Noa, are those lyrics really all that defamatory or revelatory? There are these things called straws, and we think Noa just might be grasping at them.
