She?s spent the past five years bringing Americans their news every evening, and last night (May 19) Katie Couric signed off from ?CBS Evening News? for the last time.
The 54-year-old anchor explained that she?s had a great time with the gig and met many famous people along the way.
?It?s been an extraordinary privilege to sit in this chair,? she said prior to a video highlight reel of her various stories over the years.
She told press, "I'm really proud of the talented team on the CBS Evening News and the award-winning work we've been able to do. In making the decision to move on, I know Evening News will be in great hands, but I am excited about the future."
