Charlie Sheen Loved Denise Richards' Memoir

Charlie Sheen Loved Denise Richards' Memoir

We're sure that Denise Richards has enough dirt on Charlie Sheen to fill a book -- but her new memoir is apparently not that book. Although Richards chronicles her three-year marriage to Sheen in The Real Girl Next Door, she also expresses great love for her ex-husband -- so much so that Sheen himself has given the book a big thumbs-up.

"Your book rocks!" Sheen, 45, tweeted to Richards, 40, on Friday. "Never thought I'd say it... but loved it D! xo c"

Sheen accompanied the compliment with a link to the book, along with the hashtags #HotMomma and #KeepItInTheFamily.

So what does Richards' memoir say about her famously unstable ex? She does dish a bit of dirt, like the fact that his one-time bachelor pad "was decorated entirely in black," with a panic room, a bulletproof bedroom door and a fire pole in the closet for quick escapes. She also describes their seriously unromantic-sounding first date: watching the World Series on TV while each eating their own plastic-wrapped diet meals.

But it's Richards' reaction to Sheen's recent out-of-control behavior that's the most revealing. Denise writes that Sheen had excitedly told her about his plan to create a "porn family" with four "goddesses," and that he wanted to buy Richards and their daughters a house nearby.

"I shook my head, trying to hide my sadness, not to mention my fear that the girls might be losing him," Richards recalls. "'I can't even begin to explain that to our daughters,' I said quietly. He said, 'Tell them their dad marches to his own beat.'"

Now, Richards says, she chooses to remember the good parts of their relationship and accept the bad, for the sake of daughters Sam, 7, and Lola, 6.

"I've been asked how I am handling this all lately, but the reality is I've been handling this on and off for seven years," she writes of Sheen's public meltdown. "The truth is: This is not the man I married; this is the man that I divorced."

In addition to the parts about Sheen, Richards' memoir is making waves for two other revelations: her brief fling with an unnamed female celebrity, and her regrets about getting breast implants.
